Sas music group founded in late 1975 and consisted of Soenata Tanjung (guitar), Syech Abidin (drums), Arthur Kaunang (bass & keyboards). This group name is an acronym for the letters before the name of each member.

SAS Group originated from the group AKA (Apotik Kali Asin), a jump-start the name Ucok Harahap. On August 7, 1975. Ucok inaugurated in Jakarta with his new group's name and his Ucok Gangs (Uhisga), which moves in the musical performances, modeling and dance. Ucok increasingly busy and started to become more glamorous, no longer like when it is still the vocalist AKA. Soenata, Arthur and finally decided to Syech Abidin ejecting Ucok AKA and rename the SAS at the end of December 1975. Only two weeks since the formation of the SAS, they got a thumbs-up from 15 thousand spectators at Taman Ria Monas. One month later appeared on the show titled SAS Hard Rock 76 Duel in Istora with Indonesia's top rock group Giant Step, from Bandung. Since then, the name of the SAS who prefer the cohesiveness of the three personnel, started sticking.

SAS's first album, "Baby Rock", which lauched in 1976, very thick the influence of British Rock. Since 1994, SAS musical activity practically stopped. One reason is because Soenata decided to switch professions to be evangelist. According to Arthur, SAS has not officially disbanded. "Moreover, we are still a lot of fans.''said Arthur.
